Changing your domain's nameservers is how you tell the internet "manage this domain's DNS over here." When you host with Dhruva Cloud, we create a Cloudflare zone for your domain and give you two nameservers to set at your registrar. Here's exactly how to do it.
Where to find the nameservers
After you add a domain in your Dhruva Cloud dashboard, you'll see two nameservers that look like xxx.ns.cloudflare.com. Copy both — you'll paste them at your registrar.
GoDaddy
- Log in and open My Products → Domains.
- Click your domain, then Manage DNS.
- Under Nameservers, click Change → "I'll use my own nameservers."
- Delete the existing ones and paste the two from Dhruva Cloud. Save.
Namecheap
- Go to Domain List → Manage.
- Find the Nameservers section and choose Custom DNS.
- Enter both Dhruva Cloud nameservers and click the green checkmark.
Hostinger / Others
Most registrars have a "Nameservers" or "DNS / Nameservers" section under the domain settings. Choose "Use custom nameservers" and paste the two values. The wording differs but the step is the same everywhere.
How long does propagation take?
Usually 5 minutes to a few hours; occasionally up to 24 hours. You can check status in your Dhruva Cloud dashboard with the "Re-check Cloudflare status" button — once the zone shows active, your domain is routed and SSL is issued automatically.
Why Cloudflare nameservers?
Routing through Cloudflare gives every Dhruva Cloud site a free SSL certificate, a global CDN, and DDoS protection at the edge — with no configuration on your part.
